OUR SERVICES
Supporting your people,
empowering your business
Training
In addition to organization-specific training and programs, Happy Hive identifies community-wide needs, and offers training sessions for all businesses in Jasper who have staff that wish to participate.
-
We understand the unique challenges of resort communities—some staff are long-term locals, while others may be living far from home for the first time. We work closely with your team to identify and address unique challenges, such as bridging communication gaps with managers or tailoring training to help employees reach their full potential. These proactive interventions not only strengthen your team but also save your business time and resources in the long run.
We also offer multi-level supervisory training that helps employees transitioning into leadership roles develop the skills to motivate and manage effectively, fostering a collaborative workplace.
One-on-one support
Happy Hive is here for business owners, managers and staff by appointment. We are their HR department, ready to build trust, listen, support, mediate, and create connections.
-
This aspect of our services is highly effective in mitigating the potential for an escalated event, by catching trends as they arise. Happy Hive understands and deeply values the need for confidentiality, and upholds a strict policy accordingly.
Strategic conflict resolution
Sometimes an outside perspective is required to address and mediate workplace conflict. Happy Hive empowers employees to address and resolve conflicts with the health and morale of the whole team in mind.
-
In larger companies and corporations, there is generally an entire department dedicated to this—but smaller businesses end up dealing with complicated HR situations as best they can with the resources and skills they have.
We can help you ensure that you have everything in order in the event of legal action: all employee files, including performance evaluations, goal plans, warnings/reprimands, and any other pertinent documentation, are accurate, comprehensive, and up to date.
Meanwhile, conflicts that are promptly, compassionately, and effectively addressed are far less likely to escalate any further.
Supportive post critical-incident debriefing
When unforeseeable incidents or accidents happen in the workplace it can be traumatising for all involved, and even for witnesses and family members.
-
Lisa is trained in critical incident stress debriefing and crisis intervention, and is highly skilled in leading supportive, crisis-focused discussions and follow-ups that can mitigate both long- and short-term effects of trauma by providing insight and closure. Debriefs can occur in a group setting or one-on-one, and can be scaled up or down to reflect the gravity of the incident.

Happy Hive in action
Some examples of what we’ve offered employers:
A current staff member tragically loses their life, and co-workers are very distressed. Happy Hive attended the work place and gathered all staff, supervisors, managers, and owners for a debrief, ensured all involved had access to community resources, and engaged in follow-ups with individuals/groups who so desired. Happy Hive remains available to all staff for mental health check-ins.
A young staff member has stated she and a manager to whom she is directly subordinate have developed a romantic relationship. Happy Hive supported the organization with advice on how to approach the situation and develop a pertinent policy, and, meanwhile, met with the manager in question as well as the staff member separately, remaining available to both in case any tensions or concerns develop.
